Just Playing Around
Just playing around with the blog. Seeing how it works. I wrote my reading response on a different computer so I have to load it up at a later time. I like the idea of a blog though. This is something I would like to use in my future classes. In teaching foreign language, a journal is always a recommend way of communication between the teacher and the students. I feel a blog would allow my students to have this journal. However, I would have to allow my students class time to do these blogs as all students will not have access to the internet in their home. Although there are downfalls to the blogs, I still like the idea of them instead of a handwritten journal.

Keep in mind that blogging doesn't require access to a lab. If you have one computer in the classroom, that can be a workstation for students. Think of it as an ongoing learning station, or a before/during/after class activity once they have completed other assignments. There are lots of ways that you can solve the access issue. The bigger challenge is to keep the blog an organic, compelling writing space that students want to return to...
I definately want to keep the students engaged in wanting to write in their blog space. Using the blog has helped me to formulate some ideas for my field project for next year - this is exciting!
